Summer Beach Essentials

Hello hello! Happy hump day everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We went to the beach as you do in Florida and it was a perfect day. Being a Floridian going to the beach is something that happens quite often. I’ve grown up spending weekends at the beach or on the river so I’ve learned a few essential items to bring along the way. Check out my summer beach essentials below!

1. Sunscreen: I can’t stress the importance of this enough. When I was young I hated putting sunscreen on and would come home miserable and looking like a tomato. Now I am probably a little obsessive with it. I use the Neutrogena Beach Defense SPF 70 and apply it once an hour to ensure I am protected from the sun.

2:Sunglasses: These are a must for the beach. In Florida the sun can be super harsh and can be hard on your eyes. Sunglasses are needed especially if you will be at the beach for an extended amount of time. I think Forever 21 has some of the cutest and most inexpensive sunglasses out there.

3. A cute bathing suite: Okay this might sound a little dumb but I feel like its so much easier to enjoy yourself at the beach when you have bathing suite that makes you feel good and confident about yourself. I am currently in love with the one I have on. Its from Cotton On and is also affordable. Check it out here.

4. A Book: Its so relaxing to sit on the beach and read a good book. I am currently reading the Out from Egypt series. I can’t rave enough about these books. They suck you in and you never want to stop reading.

5. Small wristlet or pouch: I usually bring an empty Ipsy bag that way I can keep my phone, wallet, and keys without them falling to the bottom of my beach bag. It makes it way easier to find.

6. Massive Beach Towel or Beach Chair: While at the beach you are going to want something to sit in beside the sand. A big beach towel works great or if you prefer a chair you can easily find an inexpensive beach chair.

7. Water: It gets extremely hot in the summer and that makes it easy to get dehydrated. So while at the beach make sure you are drinking a lot of water!

Empowerment Sunday: Samantha Virella

I have had on my heart for a while to start a blog series all about women who inspire, empower, and are all around girl bosses. My vision is through this, other ladies can relate and feel empowered to follow their dreams. When deciding who my first interview would be I instantly knew I wanted it to be Samantha Virella.

I met Samantha about six months ago, and we instantly hit it off. She is possibly the sweetest person you will ever meet but when you get to know her there is so much more than that. When I think of Samantha the word empowerment comes to mind. I constantly see her pouring into other women and ministering to their hearts. She recently became a Refit fitness instructor and her classes are all about empowering other women. She is also a wonderful wife and has four beautiful kids. I am so excited to share my first Empowerment Sunday post with you!

Q: 3 words that you would use to describe yourself?

A: Passionate, Loyal, and God-fearing. If we are being real a little messy.

Q: I know you are a Wife, Mom, and Refit instructor how do you manage to balance it all?

A: I don’t. I just keep going when it gets hard and God keeps me even when it’s hard to manage it all. When you’re a Mom it gets hard and taking time for me is important.

Q: What is Refit and why did you decide to get into it?

A: Refit Revolution is fitness for mind, body, and soul. Its faith inspired. It ministers to your heart physically and mentally. It was a God thing. I’ve been doing it online for 5 years and it has inspired and changed my life physically and mentally and I wanted to share it with others. It kind of chose me and I love it.

Q: Do you have any health-related goals for the New Year?

A: I haven’t made any goals except staying on this journey. My goal is no longer a number but to be just healthy and happy. I let go of losing a bunch of weight and just live a healthy and free life. I do want to lose a little more weight but it’s not a goal like it used to be. I became so focused on losing weight it overwhelmed me last year and I don’t want it to consume me like it was.

Q: Looking back what is one piece of advice you would give your younger self?

A: Honestly there is nothing to be afraid of when God is on your side. Fear used to hinder me so much and now I am no longer letting fear control me. My biggest obstacle was getting over fear.

Q: What would be your advice for those who are just starting a family?

A: Give yourself LOTS of grace to make mistakes and always be willing to learn more and pray a lot.

Q: What brings you the greatest satisfaction professionally?

A: Planning what the lord has put on my heart to share at the end of my classes. Organizing my playlist as well that’s fun!

Q: What brings you the greatest satisfaction personally?

A: Gods love for me.

Q: What is the best part of Motherhood?

A: There is so much! Even the hard times are worth it. I never knew I could love a person so much. It makes you understand more about Gods love for you.

Q: What’s your greatest indulgence?

A: A nice cheat meal is great. I just love food.

Q: What beauty product could you not live without and why?

A:Coconut oil. It removes makeup, moisturizes, nourishes your body. I just love it. Then eyebrows and mascara I don’t leave the house without doing those.

Q: Do you have a quote or bible verse you like to live by?

A: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

Favorite quote is I’M ENOUGH!

Review: Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation & Concealer

I was browsing around Walgreens, as you do, when suddenly out of the corner of my eyes new Wet n Wild products catch my attention. Naturally I rushed over, who am I kidding I walked and probably super slow too. Anyways I saw the Photofocus line and instantly fell in love…I mean these are the most expensive looking products Wet n Wild has ever released but we will get into that soon enough. While looking through the stash of foundation I couldn’t find my color anywhere, darn my pale skin, finally at the very back and in the wrong spot I got the very last one. Then I proceeded to find the concealer and I did. The lightest shade looked to dark but I shrugged my shoulders and bought it anyways, I can’t be stopped when it comes to makeup.

Now for the actual review of the products. I have been wearing both of these products and I feel like I have a pretty good judgement on these product. First off I will say if you have dry skin you will absolutely hate the foundation. It dries out on your skin so quickly. My skin is normal so I didn’t mind it so much. The foundation is a great color match for my skin and gave a really nice Matte finish. I wore this foundation my whole work day and noticed that it settled into my pores and really extenuated them. This foundation is horrible and for six bucks it doesn’t get much cheaper! The concealer is the real surprise for me. I originally thought it would be to dark for my skin tone but it ended up being a perfect match. It blends out beautifully and does everything you want a concealer to do. Overall these products are so inexpensive and the quality is not bad either.

e.l.f Suprise

The other day I came home after a tough day and found a little package in my mail. I was thinking that this is strange I didn’t order anything. I came inside and opened it up and it was a few e.l.f products. I was so surprised and I am a big fan of e.l.f lately. I feel like they have stepped up their game in what they are producing. They sent me the Matte Lip color in Wine (which is a perfect shade for fall), Lip Balm in pink, a Eyeliner and Shadow Stick in Black, an eye shadow quad in Tantalizing Taupe, and the Perfect Finish HD Powder. I haven’t tried all of the product out but I’m sure they will be great! Wine is actually a color that I bought in their studio store a while ago but I’m not sure if it was matte so I’m excited to try this out. Sometimes blessings come in little packages and you have to learn to appreciate the little things in life.

DMQ Dream Big Palette Review

I love supporting others who have the same passion as me so when I saw that Diva Makeup Queen on YouTube was coming out with her own palette of course I bought it. I’ve been watching DMQ for a while now and can say that she really does embody the concept of this palette which is “Dream Big.” It really is amazing that she did this on her own not through any company. Now lets get to the actual palette!

I absolutely love the colors in the “Dream Big” palette. They are right up my ally. I love the neutrals since I’m a neutral eyeshadow kind of girl but I also love the colorful options as well. Plus the finish of the eyeshadows are just beautiful!

In the picture I am wearing Passion in the crease and right above it. Then Faith right in the crease and Believe in the outer corners. All over the lid is actually the purple color which is called Imagination and to finish it out Gratitude is on my browbone. I love that all of the names of each shadow are what you need to dream big. Again congrats to DMQ on her launch of this amazing palette! If any of you are interested in this palette here is the link: http://dmq-cosmetics.myshopify.com

Inglot Freedom System Review

I’ve been in love with this Inglot Freedom System Palette for a couple of months now. I bought this on a whim on a trip to New York in Time Square at their studio store. Which I highly recommend it was such a fun experience creating this. Plus the girls that work there were very sweet and helpful. That aside the eyeshadows are like nothing I’ve used before so I am very excited to share this with you.

Right to Left colors: 21, 357, 457, 31, and 395
Right to Left colors: 21, 357, 457, 31, and 395
Inglot eyeshadow are nothing new to the internet in fact I’ve seen blog post and YouTube videos about the Freedom System Palettes for years. I always just figured it was all just hype but I’m here to tell you that the hype is real people! The shadows are crazy pigmented and I wear them daily. The textures vary from shade to shade. The ones that have a pearl like finish seem to feel velvety and a lot of the matte shades are smooth but still feel a bit chalky.

Now for the packaging because this is what makes it really stand out to me. First off everything is magnetic which is awesome because that means my palette will never run out. When I run out of an eyeshadow all I have to do is order a new shade on the website and when it comes in pop the old one out and the new one in. The magnets and the fact that its super sturdy make this palette ideal for travel.

As you can probably tell I’m slightly obsessed with the Inglot Freedom System Palettes. I listed all the colors I have in mine below the photo so make sure to check it out. Don’t live in the Big Apple? No worries you can order one here http://www.inglotcosmetics.com

Review: Tanya Burr Cosmetics!

I am so excited about this post today. It’s all about Tanya Burr Cosmetics! If you don’t know who she is then you’ve probably been living under a rock. She is a world famous YouTuber and blogger. She is also one of my personal favorites in the beauty YouTube world. So naturally I wanted some of the products from this line. Her lipgloss launched last year and her eyelashes launched just a few weeks ago. I live in the US so it makes it a little harder to get my hands on them. But I finally did and I’m very impressed.

IMG_9051.JPG When I first ordered these I tried not to get my hopes up about them. The more I read blog post and watched YouTube videos on these products the more excited I got. I don’t believe I read or watched one bad review. Now that I’ve tried them I see why.

IMG_9052-2.JPG

IMG_9053-0.JPG Lets talk about the lipgloss. I purchased Afternoon Tea and Vampire Kiss. I’m obsessed. In general both are super pigmented, smell amazing, and go on beyond smooth. Afternoon Tea is great for an everyday lip color. It would go basically with anything. Vampire Kiss is my favorite red lip I’ve ever tried and I’m not just saying that it’s honestly gorgeous. They are both just perfect that’s the one word I would use to describe both of them.

IMG_9054.JPG Now for the Eyelashes. I think they are so pretty and wearable. I was very surprised I was able to get a pair so soon after the launch. I haven’t tried these yet because I’m saving them for something special. I hope you enjoyed this post and make sure you try out Tanya’s line! XOXO

Urban Decay Naked 2 Dupe

Dupe alert major! I discovered something a few months ago that I’ve recently fell in love with. Of course I’ve always loved my Naked palettes but they can be quite pricy coming in at 50 bucks. So I set out on the search for the perfect dupe. While there are plenty of dupes for this but none compare to the In the Buff palette buy the UK brand W7. I have used the W7 nail polishes before on a trip to the UK but never used any of the makeup line. I bought this palette on Amazon, which I’ll link below, for around 9 dollars including tax and it was worth every penny. I’ll let you look for yourself how similar they are.

IMG_8918.JPG

IMG_8919.JPGI can’t get over how similar they are and the W7 palette is so much cheaper. They are so similar I did swatches of Half Baked and YDK along with the similar one in the W7 palette and couldn’t tell you which is which.

IMG_8920.JPG

IMG_8921.JPGThis is perfect for those who don’t want to spend the 50 dollars for the Naked 2 palette. I hope you enjoy this post! If you have found any other good dupes let me know! XOXO

Fall Makeup | Autumn Blog Series

There is nothing like waking up and feeling the Autumn air and knowing you can wear a lot of makeup because it won’t melt away. Just kidding I live in Florida and it’s still 87 degrees but I do it anyways. Fall is the perfect time to play around and experiment with makeup. I personally love dark makeup during this time of the year. So today thats what I went with. I think this look still has a natural feel in the eyes but the lips make it a little edgy/glam. Here is my finished look along with the products I used!
