Summer Beach Essentials

Hello hello! Happy hump day everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We went to the beach as you do in Florida and it was a perfect day. Being a Floridian going to the beach is something that happens quite often. I’ve grown up spending weekends at the beach or on the river so I’ve learned a few essential items to bring along the way. Check out my summer beach essentials below!

1. Sunscreen: I can’t stress the importance of this enough. When I was young I hated putting sunscreen on and would come home miserable and looking like a tomato. Now I am probably a little obsessive with it. I use the Neutrogena Beach Defense SPF 70 and apply it once an hour to ensure I am protected from the sun.

2:Sunglasses: These are a must for the beach. In Florida the sun can be super harsh and can be hard on your eyes. Sunglasses are needed especially if you will be at the beach for an extended amount of time. I think Forever 21 has some of the cutest and most inexpensive sunglasses out there.

3. A cute bathing suite: Okay this might sound a little dumb but I feel like its so much easier to enjoy yourself at the beach when you have bathing suite that makes you feel good and confident about yourself. I am currently in love with the one I have on. Its from Cotton On and is also affordable. Check it out here.

4. A Book: Its so relaxing to sit on the beach and read a good book. I am currently reading the Out from Egypt series. I can’t rave enough about these books. They suck you in and you never want to stop reading.

5. Small wristlet or pouch: I usually bring an empty Ipsy bag that way I can keep my phone, wallet, and keys without them falling to the bottom of my beach bag. It makes it way easier to find.

6. Massive Beach Towel or Beach Chair: While at the beach you are going to want something to sit in beside the sand. A big beach towel works great or if you prefer a chair you can easily find an inexpensive beach chair.

7. Water: It gets extremely hot in the summer and that makes it easy to get dehydrated. So while at the beach make sure you are drinking a lot of water!

How to Wear the Trend: Floppy Hats and Gold Metal Jewelry

Floppy hats and gold jewelry…two of my favorite things. I’m not a huge accessory wearing type of girl but I’ve recently started to love this trend and have figured out how I can wear this in a way that’s not over the top.

I have to admit that for the longest time hats scared me to death. I always thought that I looked horrible in any and every type of hat. The first step was finding one that actually worked for me. My advice is try a bunch on. You never know until you try! My second words of advice are to be confident. I’ve realized lately sometime we as females get so caught up in what people will think if we wear this or that but honestly who cares. If you like the hat wear the hat! It’s that simple.

Growing up I only liked silver jewelry but now I love gold. It’s so wearable and goes with so much. I like to keep it simple with my Giving Key that has fearless engraved on it. It’s super easy to pair with an outfit. Start with a simple gold necklace and you will literally be able to wear it with whatever you like.

Hope you enjoyed today’s post! Remember to always be confident in who you are!

Tennessee Day 4: Morning Walks, Thanksgiving, and Snow

We started our day by taking a morning walk. It was very relaxing but super cold. It’s nice to take a step back and just take everything in.

IMG_0027.JPG After a bit more relaxing we decided to drive into Gatlinburg. All week the weather has called for snow and us Floridians were very excited. Well it never did until today. The snow finally came! I was so happy and it was a perfect way to end our time in Tennessee.

Texas Day 1: Early Flights, Shopping, and Texas BBQ

My day started out at 3 am yes I said it 3 am. Our flight left at 6 so I woke up got ready and headed to the airport. The airport where I live is always busy so we got there extra early. We landed in Texas around 8 o’clock and we were ready to start our day.

We decide our first stop was the Galleria which is the fourth largest mall in America. Trust me it’s huge! We shopped and shopped until it was time for lunch. We met with family and friends who live in Houston at the Cheesecake Factory. It was such a nice time. After we shopped some more. Of course me and my sister stopped to take pictures of our outfits.

IMG_7831.JPG Our very last stop for the day was a local BBQ joint called the Stock Yard. I can safely say it’s one of the best BBQ places I’ve ever eaten at.

Happy July 4th! I hope everyone is having a lovely day. I thought I would share my outfit with all of you real quick. My shirt is from Brandy Mellville, jeans Forever 21, and shoes from Target. Also my bracelet is actually something from my grandmas closet so I’m not sure where it’s from. I hope everyone who celebrates it had a wonderful 4th of July!

A Day in St. Augustine

I don’t think you always have to travel far to have an adventure. Today I drove around two hours to a cute little town in Florida called St. Augustine. St. Augustine is the oldest town in The United States. It’s full of cute little shops, small cafés, and lots of historical sites. I spent my day eating, touring, and shopping. The first thing I visited was San Marcos fort which is the largest historical site in St. Augustine it’s huge. Then I spent some time shopping in the Colonial Quarters. I picked up so fresh squeezed lemonade which was to die for. To end my day I went to a place in the Colonial Quarters called Milkshake and Waffle Bar. It was so good! Overall it was a fantastic day.
