My Goals for 2017

I can’t believe it’s already 2017 where has time gone. I am actually very excited for this year. I feel like its going to be great! This is the time of year where everyone sets goals for the themselves and I’ve never really set new years goals because most people never actually fulfill them. This year I decided I would set five goals and I wanted to share them. So here goes!

  1. Read my bible for at least 20 minutes everyday. Sometimes life gets so busy that its easy to forget to push aside spending time in the word when it is so important for spiritual health.
  2. Make more time for myself. This something that I am not very good at but I think its vital to take some time and do things that make you feel happy and relaxed. Some of those things for me are date nights, spending time with my girlfriends, relaxing baths, and writing for fun.
  3. Blog twice a week. I am so inconsistent with my blogging and this year I’ve decided to set myself a schedule.
  4. Go on a long walk twice a week. Walking is so good for you and can really help clear your mind.
  5. Book a vacation to Paris! This has been a long term goal for me and I’ve kind of made it my husbands to. I have been to Europe but I have never been to Paris and its always been a dream of mine. By the end of this year I would love to have a trip booked for the beginning of next year!

There are my five goals for 2017! I am so excited for these and I feel like they are actually obtainable. What are some of your goals for 2017?

New York City

I love the city but I exspecially love the city during Christmas time. There is something that is magical about it. The crowded city streets, crazy crowds, and decorations all over the city always seem to put me in the Christmas spirit. One of my favorite parts of Christmas time in New York City is the Christmas Markets throughout the city. My absolute favorite is the Bryant Park Christmas Village. You can buy ornaments, accessories, and my personal favorite is the food. The fried pickles and Nutella Banana Crepes are my favorite. This year I went to see the Radio City Rockettes for the second time. I have loved the Rockettes since I was a little girl and I am so happy I was able to see them again. We decided to do the Top of the Rock and that never disappoints. The views from the Rockefeller Center are breathtaking. It’s my favorite view of the city. Our final night we did a NYC harbor tour, which I have never done, and loved it. The tour stops in the financial district, Brooklyn, and the Statue of Liberty. We went at sunset so we got to see the sun go down over the city and it was just beautiful.I feel really blessed to have the opportunity to go to New York. I’ve been three times in the last three years and I never get tired of this beautiful city.

One of my new favorite places for New York style cheesecake is Eileen’s Special Cheesecake. So yummy!

We had such a great time in the city. I hope you have all had a great Thanksgiving vacation and hope you enjoyed taking a peek at mine!

O Christmas Tree

I love Christmas and I love Decorating for Christmas. Honestly I’ve been wanting to decorate since Halloween and today I finally got around to putting up my small tree. I love this tree. Is it perfect absolutely not but it describes me. When I look at it I see little pieces of myself. It’s early to decorate but honestly I don’t care. Why not start to have a little Christmas cheer. So today I warmed myself up some Apple Cider, put on Elvis Presley’s Christmas album, and started putting up my little tree. Happy decorating people!

Life Update

Where do I even start.. it’s been so long. Life has just become so crazy. A lot has changed in my life and that’s a good thing. As good as all of the change has been it’s also been stressful and busy. In the last months I started my fall semester, I went to Jamaica, my family took in a 3rd puppy, I got a new job and start in two weeks, and the biggest thing is I got engaged!! So wedding planning is in full swing at the moment but I am back and plan to focus on this more. I’ve decided that I will give myself the freedom to not just write about fashion and beauty but wedding planning, decorating a home, and whats on my heart etc… I’m very excited to start this blogging journey again.

Inglot Freedom System Review

I’ve been in love with this Inglot Freedom System Palette for a couple of months now. I bought this on a whim on a trip to New York in Time Square at their studio store. Which I highly recommend it was such a fun experience creating this. Plus the girls that work there were very sweet and helpful. That aside the eyeshadows are like nothing I’ve used before so I am very excited to share this with you.

Right to Left colors: 21, 357, 457, 31, and 395
Right to Left colors: 21, 357, 457, 31, and 395
Inglot eyeshadow are nothing new to the internet in fact I’ve seen blog post and YouTube videos about the Freedom System Palettes for years. I always just figured it was all just hype but I’m here to tell you that the hype is real people! The shadows are crazy pigmented and I wear them daily. The textures vary from shade to shade. The ones that have a pearl like finish seem to feel velvety and a lot of the matte shades are smooth but still feel a bit chalky.

Now for the packaging because this is what makes it really stand out to me. First off everything is magnetic which is awesome because that means my palette will never run out. When I run out of an eyeshadow all I have to do is order a new shade on the website and when it comes in pop the old one out and the new one in. The magnets and the fact that its super sturdy make this palette ideal for travel.

As you can probably tell I’m slightly obsessed with the Inglot Freedom System Palettes. I listed all the colors I have in mine below the photo so make sure to check it out. Don’t live in the Big Apple? No worries you can order one here http://www.inglotcosmetics.com

New York City Day 6: Meeting Harry Styles and Times Square One Last Time

Today was literally the perfect way to end our trip. We decided this morning just to spend a little while shopping in time square. After that it was almost time for our plane. So we walked back to the apartment to get our stuff. As we were walking my friend saw someone and says that looks like Harry Styles. Then we realized it was. It was literally just us who noticed him so I went up and asked if we could take a picture. He said of course! And then said I’m Harry what’s your names? So we told him then he asked if we would like to cross the street and then take the picture. So we did and this was the result.

IMG_1337.JPG He was so nice and kind to take time and do that for us. So here’s some Times Square pictures if you care at this point.

New York City Day 6: Top of the Rock, Wall Street, and Reunited with a Wonderful Friend

We started out our day by going to Top of the Rock. I had never been before so it was exciting. I have been to NYC but like I said I’ve never been to Top of the Rock, or up in any of the really tall buildings, so I never realized the magnitude of this city. It’s huge! I knew it was big but I don’t think you realize just how big until you’ve seen it from this high up.

IMG_1194.JPG The final thing we had on the agenda was to meet up with a wonderful friend who lives in the city. She took us to dinner at a Thai restaurant which was super good! It was just really awesome to see her and catch up.

IMG_1199.JPG Tomorrow is our last day in the city! I will be blogging for one more day! I’ve had such a great time and hope you’ve enjoyed following me around so far! XOXO

New York City Day 5: Central Park, Hillsong NYC, and Macy’s

Today we had a late start because we were all so tired. Eventually we made it out the door and to Central Park. I love Central Park it’s one of my favorite parts of the city. It’s so pretty especially during winter. We wondered around for quite a few hours and it was so nice to just relax in the midst of such a busy city.

IMG_0970.JPGAfter Central Park we all wanted to go to church and there’s no other place i would rather be than Hillsong NYC. I feel so refreshed after going. Pastor Carl Lentz talked on gratitude today. I instantly felt convicted. My favorite quote was “God doesn’t need to change your circumstances, you need to change your spirit.” I feel like so often I fall into wanting my surroundings and circumstances to change when really I need to check my heart and spirit. It was just a great service.

IMG_0946.JPGThe final thing we did was Macy’s. It was a lot of fun and so big!

New York City Day 4: Shopping, Brunch, Bryant Park Christmas Market, and Ellens Stardust Diner

Yet again we shopped even more today which I don’t mind at all! We hit up Topshop which I love because we don’t have one where I live. We also hit up Dash and a few other stores. It was a nice slow morning. We also did brunch at this really cool organic restaurant. I ordered a grilled cheese and it was great!

IMG_0791-1.JPG

IMG_0792.JPGAfter that we went to Chinatown which I’m not a huge fan of but I thought my friends should see it because they never have. After that we headed to the Christmas market in Bryant Park. We absolutely loved it. There are tons of shops and food stands. I bought a super yummy Crêpe. The area was super busy but still a lot of fun.

IMG_0794.JPG To finish off the day my friend really wanted to go to Ellens Stardust Diner. I had never been so I was up for it. I wasn’t disappointed. The food was really good plus you sort of got a show while eating as well.

New York City Day 3: Soho, Fancy Dinner, and Aladdin on Broadway

Another beautiful day here in NYC! We started our day a little late because it was a late night. So we walked to Soho and hit up quite a few shops. One of the many we hit up was the e.l.f Studio Store. It was awesome! Talk about makeup heaven! We got a lot of stuff as you can see!

IMG_0594.JPG

IMG_0595.JPG After shopping a bit more and seeing a few sights we came back to where we are staying and got ready. When we were ready to go we called an Uber to pick us up. We were shocked when we got picked up in a black escalade. I had never been in that nice of a Uber so it was really cool. We ate at this Italian restaurant called La Messeria. It was super good!

IMG_0724.JPG After dinner we had some time to kill so we decided to hangout in Times Square for a bit since it was close.
